Down a quiet residential sidestreet, beneath the shade of a single banana tree blown by gentle island breezes, lies a blissful little shack of a workshop that is home to Key West Makers

Woodworker Reacts to Flooded Workshop

My woodworking and maker shop flooded last weekend as Tropical Storm Sally passed over Key West and dumped nearly a foot of rain on our little island. With our home and my workshop being very close to the ocean and just over sea level tthere wasn't much I could do as the land and sea became one and began to seep into my shop. I wa in the middle of raranging and reorganizing my shop , tools, carts, etc when the water started coming in. I picked up a few important pieces I was working on off the floor and later headed out for the evening, not realizing that what started out as water seeping in would eventually destroying many hand tools, cabinets and mobile carts. The walls will have to be dissasembled and the insulation replaced, but I'm hoping to turn it into tsomething positive by rebuilding parts of the shop that were less than perfect. Thanks for all the support and encouragement from the woodworking and maker community! Enjoy and thanks for watching! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connect with us: WEBSITE: https://www.keywestmakers.com FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/keywestmakers/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/keywestmakers/ YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgga...
